Introduction to Workflow Forms
Build storefront forms from reusable fields, show them inline, as a popup or on their own page, and start Shopify Flow from every submission.
Workflow Forms lets you build forms for your Shopify storefront from a library of reusable fields. A form can sit on any page of your theme, open as a popup, or live on its own link page. Every submission is stored in an inbox in the app and starts the Form submitted trigger in Shopify Flow with all submitted values, so a workflow can email your team, tag a customer or call another system.
Use it for contact forms, newsletter signups, wholesale and return requests, feedback, or any other form you want to act on automatically.
What you can do with it
- Build forms from reusable fields. Define a field once in your library and place it on any number of forms. See Fields and the field library.
- Start from a template. Contact form, Newsletter signup, Wholesale request, Return request, Feedback, or a Blank form. See Create your first form.
- Use Liquid and simple HTML in your texts, for example to link your privacy policy, greet a logged-in customer or pre-fill their email. See Liquid and HTML in your texts.
- Show and hide fields with conditions, and split long forms into steps. See Conditions and multi-step forms.
- Three ways onto your storefront. A theme block, a popup, or a direct link page. See Add a form to your theme, Popups and Direct link page.
- Forms in your visitors' language. One main language plus the languages you add. See Languages.
- One branding for every form, with colors, fonts and shape, and an optional own look per form. See Branding.
- Start Shopify Flow when a form is sent, when a submission is refused, and when its inbox status changes. See Shopify Flow triggers.
- Read every submission in an inbox with filters, bulk actions and a CSV export. See The submissions inbox.
- Keep spam out with built-in checks and a list of blocked email domains. See Spam protection.
- Automate from code or an AI agent with the REST API and MCP server. See Developer API and MCP.
How a submission travels
- A visitor fills in a form on your storefront and sends it.
- Workflow Forms checks the submission on the server: conditions, required fields, validation and the spam checks. If a value is not valid, the visitor sees the errors at the fields, in their language. Fields that were hidden by a condition are dropped.
- The submission is stored encrypted and appears in Submissions.
- The Form submitted trigger starts in Shopify Flow with the form handle, the email, the language, marketing consent and all values.
- The visitor sees your message (optionally with a discount code) or is sent to another page. See After sending: message, discount code and redirect.
If Shopify Flow does not accept a submission, it is still stored. It shows as Not sent to Flow and you can send it again from the submission's page.
